White label L-glutamine

L-glutamine sells to two completely different customers, and most suppliers only talk to one of them.

On a gym shelf it sits next to BCAA and creatine as a recovery product, bought by lifters, priced as a commodity. In a clinic, a practitioner range or a wellness subscription box it is something else entirely — a different customer, a different price point, and a reorder pattern that is far more predictable than the gym trade.

Same powder. Ten tubs is £159.20 before VAT and delivery.

Which shelf are you selling to?

It is worth deciding before you design anything, because the two markets want different packaging. Sports positioning wants to look like performance. Practitioner and wellness positioning wants to look clean, considered and slightly clinical — and generally carries a higher margin.

You do not have to pick permanently. Ten tubs is cheap enough to test one, and the split run option means you can eventually put the same powder under two brand names in a single print run.

The ladder, in cash

Tub pricing steps down at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 units. At ten tubs L-glutamine is £15.92 each. By a hundred the rate falls to roughly £9.87, applied automatically in the basket with nothing to negotiate.

Each format keeps its own ladder, so buying tubs does not affect what sachets or pouches cost you later.

What a low MOQ actually buys you

MOQ is minimum order quantity — the smallest run a manufacturer will accept, usually five thousand units in supplements, because printed packaging is made in one long print run and the run sets the minimum.

Tubs sidestep it. Filled from stock we already hold, your label applied, no print run behind the order. Ten is the number, and on a product with two possible markets that matters more than usual — it lets you test both without committing to either.

What you get, whichever route you take

  • The statutory information for the product, set out ready for you to build your artwork around
  • Batch code and best before on every unit
  • A scoop in every tub and every pouch
  • Induction heat sealed
  • A proof before anything prints, and a full refund if you cancel before you approve it
  • Boxed and shipped tracked from Weston-super-Mare

You supply the branding. We print, apply and ship.

The label is yours, and so is what it says

Gut and immune wording attracts a great deal of language that is not permitted on a GB label, and the wellness market is where most of it appears. We supply the statutory template with the mandatory information positioned correctly. What you claim on top of that is your responsibility as the brand owner, the rules are narrow, and permitted claim wording cannot be paraphrased.

We will tell you if something on your artwork looks like a problem. We will not write your claims for you. If you have no artwork at all, ask and we will introduce you to an independent designer, free.

Three routes, three commitments

The same L-glutamine in all three. What changes is what you are committing to, and the cheque you write.

Printed film replaces the tub, the lid and the label, so cost per gram falls by roughly half. Splits five ways at 140 each.

Choose pouches

The order that surprises people

Sachets carry the biggest minimum and the smaller cheque. £1,300.00 against £5,201.00 for pouches, on the same powder.

So the real ladder is not 10, then 700, then 5,000. By what you actually pay it runs ten tubs, then five thousand sachets, then seven hundred pouches. Worth knowing before you assume the middle step is the affordable one.

Questions

If yours is not here, email orders@makemysupps.co.uk.

What is the minimum order for white label L-glutamine?

Ten 300g tubs, which is £159.20 before VAT and delivery. Sachets start at 5,000 (£1,300) and pouches at 700 (£5,201).

What does MOQ mean?

Minimum order quantity — the smallest run a manufacturer will accept. In supplements it is usually five thousand units, because printed packaging is made in one long print run and the run sets the minimum.

Tubs avoid that. They are filled from stock we already hold and your label is applied, so there is no print run and no reason for a large minimum.

Should I position it for sport or for wellness?

That is a branding decision rather than a product one — it is the same powder either way. Sports positioning puts it next to BCAA and creatine and sells on recovery. Wellness positioning puts it in clinics, practitioner ranges and subscription boxes, usually at a higher price point and to a customer who reorders more predictably.

Whichever you choose, be careful what the label says about it. The permitted wording is narrow in both markets.

How does the price ladder work?

Tub pricing steps down at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 units. At ten tubs L-glutamine is £15.92 each; by a hundred the rate falls to roughly £9.87. Applied automatically in the basket, with nothing to negotiate.

Each format keeps its own ladder, so ordering tubs does not change your sachet or pouch pricing.

Is it flavoured?

Unflavoured only at the moment, in every format. Peach, Lemon and Mango appear on some product pages so you can see what is coming, but they cannot be ordered yet. Unflavoured suits L-glutamine well, since it is usually taken in water or stirred into something else.

How long does it take?

Tubs ship in days from filled stock. Pouches and sachets are six weeks from artwork approval, because the film has to be printed before anything can be filled. The clock starts when you approve artwork, not when you order.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any point before you approve your artwork, for a full refund. Once approved we originate and print, and the order can no longer be cancelled.

What goes on the label, and who is responsible for it?

We supply the statutory information for the product with the mandatory items positioned correctly, plus batch code and best before on every unit. You add your brand name, logo and any other text.

You are the brand owner and remain responsible for the compliance of what you sell. GB rules on what a supplement label may claim are narrow and the wording of any permitted claim cannot be paraphrased. Gut and immune wording in particular attracts a lot of language that is not permitted. We will flag anything on your artwork that looks like a problem, but we will not write your claims for you.

I have no artwork. Can you help?

Ask and we will introduce you to an independent designer. The introduction is free.

Why are printed quantities plus or minus 10%?

Printed film runs never land on an exact count. Setup wastes material and the run stops on length rather than units, so a 700 pouch order delivers between 630 and 770 and that counts as a correct delivery. Plan your own stock on the lower figure. Tubs are unaffected, because there is no print run.
